Acknowledging country

As a reflection of our collective recognition of the deep history and culture of this island, we acknowledge the palawa people, the traditional owners and custodians.

We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal community, who have survived invasion and dispossession, and continue to maintain their identity, culture and Aboriginal rights.

We also recognise the value of continuing Aboriginal knowledge and cultural practice, which informs our understandings of history, culture, science and environment and the role of research and education in supporting the development of the Tasmanian community.
